Fight the Flu

Don't let the flu get you down.  Try NAC, N-Acetylcysteine which is an amino acid that helps lung function, detoxes the liver especially for over consumption of acetaminophen.  It strengthens the immune system, so it can ward off the flu, and works well as a decongestant.  It also helps with brain neurological issues like Alzheimer's, anxiety, Autism, PTSD, bi-polar issues.  It has also shown to decrease tumor growth in cancer.

Coconut oil is also great for the immune system because it contains lauric acid, which is able to break down the outer membrane of a virus cell.  When this fatty outer membrane is compromised, then the white blood cells can attack the virus cells and kill them.  When you are actively sick, 2-3 tablespoons is suggested.  You can take it by the spoonful, in tea, smoothies, oatmeal, toast etc., etc.

Also,  L-Lysine, Vit. C, and Ester-C are great for your immune system.  In addition, Thyme Tea can decrease viral loads.  A simple preparation is just putting a couple sprigs in a mug and pouring boiled water in to the mug.  Fresh thyme can be bought at most health food grocery stores by the pre-packaged salad section.

Tharan, my 8 year old son that is pictured above has a dual diagnosis of Autism and Down Syndrome, and has stage one kidney disease.  In November for the first time ever, his new psychiatric team that manages his autism suggested NAC.  He's been taking it since November and he seems calmer and now seems to be able to focus for more prolonged periods of time.  And, he is talking and expressing himself more!!

He and my mother began to get ill at the same time right before New Year's, although he got better with in a day or two and she didn't.  I don't think it was a coincidence.  I think because he had been on the NAC for almost two months, it helped his immune system.  And, this winter less snot nose going on!!  Granted he also consumes 5 tablespoons of coconut oil a day and has 4 ozs of Asea which helps with his immune system, sleep, and helps him focus.  Asea gets rid of oxidative stress, just like the NAC does as well.  Here's my site per the Asea dryve.teamasea.com, and I will also do a blog about all the Asea benefits.

He also gets Doterra Frankincense and On Guard rubbed on his chest and feet every night for prevention.  I put on a diffuser that I add essential oils to, and I run it most of the night as well.
